Kingdom of Cambodia 30。05.13

There was 9 of us visited Cambodia, the land of temple from 30th of May - 2nd of June. Basically, expenses for this trip not more than RM1k.

We chose to touch down at Pnom Penh (PP) airport then took van to Seam Reap (SR) because the flight ticket is much more cheaper.
It took 6 hours to reach Seam Reap, so I still think is advisable to take flight to SR if you are not on budget travelling.
Seriously, butt pain!

Along the road to SR, there were wide land of paddy field.
However, I am actually doubting that did they get great harvest? The land looked so dry!

Most of the houses there were built high with long wood sticks because flood always happened.
And the roads are narrow. Is like the houses actually built at both side of the road, there are bridges to connect to the road. Kinda like houses at the cliff side.
Well, I don't really know how to explain. Maybe the government don't have enough  money for embankment.

Cambodian have this serious wealth gaps, those people who afford to buy car is really someone who is so rich because the cars sold at high price and the fuel is expensive. So, normal worker like me will never afford to buy a car.

So, we arrived PP airport in the morning and met our driver for another 6 hrs journey to SR.

Mr. Chan who is looking for Tan Sri!!!
Jokes that only Malaysian will knows!

We were stopped by this place that sells fried insects.

 Fried spiders.
I think they fried them with soy sauce?!

Poor little froggy!

Ah, they caught crickets by the big plastic bag tights on the fluorescent light at night.

Yes, don't doubt. It did crawling on my hand!

And S is the first one who tried the fried spider.
I ate! Imagine you're eating soft shell crab.

Then, there were a few kids surrounded you and kept praising you just to hope you buy something from them.
Ah, little kids are good in doing business.

(SR)
We checked in to this hotel.

Just a really random shooting because I like the flowers!
It was a four stars hotel and I don't get why two persons can stayed for a room with two single beds while three persons forced to stayed in a room with two king size beds and one single bed.
( is like 3 persons provided you 5 bed spaces, I don't really like when there is too much spaces left in a bedroom kinda creepy I thought)
Anyway, their staffs still very polite and nice la.
They explained everything to you when they showed you your room.

The driver brought us to a restaurant for buffet as dinner for the night.

Traditional dance performance.

10usd for a buffet, not expensive but not worthy, too.
The food doesn't tasted nice.
I expected that because when the driver suggested you a restaurant for any meal, they actually got commission from them and the food usually not really nice.
Already experienced that during my previous Bali trip.

After that, we walked around the night market.

So, the night market is fulled with stalls that sell clothes and souvenirs.
There are plenty of foot massage stalls.
Only cost 1usd / I think is either 15mins or 30mins.
And everyone knows pub street where beer cheaper than mineral water.
Night life grows here!

Life......

Yawn.

This is the second week of holidays.
May gone and here comes the fourth day of June.
I was sunk in the dateless timezone when I was in the Cambodia trip.
Until I saw the receipt of the Burger King I realised June is here.
The emotional feeling just came inside my soul. Damn it.

Well, maybe that day was the day I left Cambodia and felt like trip ends means holidays end, too.
Yes, only travelling make me feels life a little more interesting.

The week before I went Cambodia was packed!
Everyday was planned and I woke up 8 stg every morning even thou I don't have to. So not me! But, I'm glad with that.
But now, no more planning no more trips I feel down......lifeless
Can I just resign and forever travel?!
I don't mind doing part time job/ become an illegal labour......

I'm just fine

Hmm...... looks like May going to end in real soon.
I think I've repeated the word time flies over and over.
It seems like half of the year gone. Just like that.
What have I done? Achieve anything?
Years passing so fast ever since I started to work.
I remember I was once eagerly to reach the age of 25 because I wanted to know what I'm going to be and now I am just an really ordinary lady.
Life never really been so fascinating.
I am just rotted in the same place, doing the same thing, facing the same situation.

Anyhow, I think I am really someone who never satisfies with what I have own now. May be out there people might think I already good enough to come to this phrase of my life.
At least I've graduated with a good result, I got a stable job, then I got my own property, salary that enough for me to survive and I got friends and family.
And eventually my life is actually getting better with good things come along.
What else do I need??
But I am just not satisfy, just too greedy wanted to get more.
Just like Morrie said people wanted more and more and more like there's a never ending desire.
Somehow, I feel so empty on the other side..... Am I a pessimist?
I have no idea what can I do to fulfill it......
I don't have the courage to change the routine.
I need a real powerful strength to probe me to a right direction. A real powerful one!
May be I just need to put myself to believe in a religion.

I didn't mean to write so much at first but just...um...end up become kinda emotional.
I think I can only express my feeling by writing rather than talking to someone.

Okay, shut down please.
I should think something good.
Two weeks holidays coming again. Gonna fly soon.
I think travelling is the only thing that make my life a little more interesting.

Well holidays supposed to be happy but just the only fly in the ointment is I have to drive all the way back to my working place to finish something.
Forced to do so, that really spoilt my mood once I know that.
Screw you!

Nights, world!

Great Friday

Yesterday was an awesomely great day!
Because I won in a contest!!! It was my first time blog to enter a contest and I couldn't described how happy I am when I received the email that tell me I'm one of the only two winner!
Is not something big or expensive but I just couldn't tell the happiness as I think I never won in any contest ever since I graduated from primary school.
Waiting patiently to get my parcel delivers next week!
I can just feel the lucky angels are surrounding me.

I woke up in the morning and decided to cook my own version of vegetarian Okonomiyaki.
Instead of using flour and eggs as the main ingredient for the batter, I mixed it with potatoes slices.

                                                    1. Onion
                                                    2. Potato
                                                    3. Cabbage
                                                    4. tomato
                                                    5. Carrot
                                                    6. Cheese
                                                    7. Seasoned seaweed
I took about 2 hours just to cut all the vege......Ah, I'm darn slow!

The batter actually failed because not crunchy at all and is kinda hard to bite.
Anyway, I think still a good try.

Then, I went shopping to get a new sling bag.

I'm still obsess with gold and studs.

Margherita pizza and mixed pork platter @ Phat Barrels
I like the pork banger.

Then, while waiting for the food served I received the winning contest email.
Just made my dinner extraordinary delicious with the news I got!
Then, the night ended with karaoke.

The feng shui master is right!
My life is getting so much better compare to last year.
And is going to be better and better along with the days.

Nighty nights!

Story from a friend

S came back from W&T prog. and I had actually heard her stories repeated and repeated when we went hanging out with different bunch of friends.

I saw some creative stuffs from US.

They called it lucky penny.
There's a machine that can shaped the penny into oval shape and chopped a logo of the place that you've visited.

They have different designs of Starbucks card in different states and you can just grab them as you like and reload it.
Then, swipe the card to get the Frappe!
We don't get Starbuck card free at M'sia......
Oh, ya... they have this McDonald's card, too.
How cute is the doodles!

I finally got to try this 宇治抹茶 Kit Kat!!
Japan always got these special flavour of Kit Kat like the common one ichigo, rum&raisin, sakura, pumpkin, soy sauce, sweet potato and so on so on!!!!
Why Malaysia sells limited flavour of Kit Kat  =(
I think I only saw milk choc & dark choc flavour...

Then, this Niagara Falls' postcard.
S said it does look exactly like the postcard in real life.
Wow! How magnificent!

So, she made me feel jealous on her visit to the State!

Another food that S recommended us to try during dinner time.

Nachos is Tex-Mex cuisine serve as a snack.
Basically is tortilla chips covered in cheese, salsa/mayo, tuna, shredded chicken/beef, cucumber, tomato and pickled chilli.
Yums! I'll definitely try this at home.
