Great Friday

Yesterday was an awesomely great day!
Because I won in a contest!!! It was my first time blog to enter a contest and I couldn't described how happy I am when I received the email that tell me I'm one of the only two winner!
Is not something big or expensive but I just couldn't tell the happiness as I think I never won in any contest ever since I graduated from primary school.
Waiting patiently to get my parcel delivers next week!
I can just feel the lucky angels are surrounding me.

I woke up in the morning and decided to cook my own version of vegetarian Okonomiyaki.
Instead of using flour and eggs as the main ingredient for the batter, I mixed it with potatoes slices.

                                                    1. Onion
                                                    2. Potato
                                                    3. Cabbage
                                                    4. tomato
                                                    5. Carrot
                                                    6. Cheese
                                                    7. Seasoned seaweed
I took about 2 hours just to cut all the vege......Ah, I'm darn slow!

The batter actually failed because not crunchy at all and is kinda hard to bite.
Anyway, I think still a good try.

Then, I went shopping to get a new sling bag.

I'm still obsess with gold and studs.

Margherita pizza and mixed pork platter @ Phat Barrels
I like the pork banger.

Then, while waiting for the food served I received the winning contest email.
Just made my dinner extraordinary delicious with the news I got!
Then, the night ended with karaoke.

The feng shui master is right!
My life is getting so much better compare to last year.
And is going to be better and better along with the days.

Nighty nights!

Story from a friend

S came back from W&T prog. and I had actually heard her stories repeated and repeated when we went hanging out with different bunch of friends.

I saw some creative stuffs from US.

They called it lucky penny.
There's a machine that can shaped the penny into oval shape and chopped a logo of the place that you've visited.

They have different designs of Starbucks card in different states and you can just grab them as you like and reload it.
Then, swipe the card to get the Frappe!
We don't get Starbuck card free at M'sia......
Oh, ya... they have this McDonald's card, too.
How cute is the doodles!

I finally got to try this 宇治抹茶 Kit Kat!!
Japan always got these special flavour of Kit Kat like the common one ichigo, rum&raisin, sakura, pumpkin, soy sauce, sweet potato and so on so on!!!!
Why Malaysia sells limited flavour of Kit Kat  =(
I think I only saw milk choc & dark choc flavour...

Then, this Niagara Falls' postcard.
S said it does look exactly like the postcard in real life.
Wow! How magnificent!

So, she made me feel jealous on her visit to the State!

Another food that S recommended us to try during dinner time.

Nachos is Tex-Mex cuisine serve as a snack.
Basically is tortilla chips covered in cheese, salsa/mayo, tuna, shredded chicken/beef, cucumber, tomato and pickled chilli.
Yums! I'll definitely try this at home.

Chinese Snake Year

I remember I was so sad when holidays ended during last December and I wrote this post.
But, I'm now in another holiday for a week!
So, happy holidays!
Time really passed incredibly fast. Sigh.

Dragon year is officially ended that means I've grow older, 25.
Hmm... 25, a number that kinda sensitive. Anyway, leave it!
I will be very lucky in Snake year kay!!! (Law of attraction)

Happy Snakey Year!!

How was your Chinese New Year Eve?
I was like experienced the minor earthquake effect because of  the effect from the firecrackers booming in the neighbourhood.
My typical new year eve was spring cleaning till midnight.
Sort like count down New Year by mopping the floor.
My family never follow the rules. Mom not believing that cleaning the dust will clean away the fortune.
No praying, no red packets from parents to children, no fire crackers, no red decorations, ah no traditions are followed......wtf. Am I still a Chinese...
I never know what is Lou Sang until I entered college.
Pathetic, right?

Fyi, Lou Sang is actually a dish (salad) used to be eaten on the seventh day of CNY but nowadays people don't really follow the tradition. People do the tossing together and believed that the higher the salad is tossed, the greater the luck will come to you.
This year the Lou Sang event was interesting because we prepared the Snake shape container for the Lou Sang's ingredients.

You never found this in another place! It is one and only.

Nice colour!

Secret recipe from hot mom.

Ready for the auspicious year. c:

p/s: photos credits to my colleague.

What have you had for your reunion dinner? I bet was a scrumptious meal.
For me reunion dinner is actually kinda like normal dinner because I'm still having dinner with the same person like my normal weekend when I come back home.
I don't feel any reunion thingy.
Sometimes, I'm hoping that I born in old days.
People only have roasted pork, fishes, shrimps, abalones and all those seafood during the Big Day. Then, I'll be much appreciate the dinner.

Anyway, last weekend I suggested steamboat for CNY eve's dinner and mom said don't want because have to prepare so many ingredients.
Who knows she secretly bought so much and told me we are going to have steamboat. LOL. I know she loves me!

This is only part of it.

I felt that I'm damn hardworking this year.
I prepared the steamboat ingredients and made cookies/snack for CNY without helping.
(clap claps)
But, I took up so much times because I'm slow.

I can't believe that I can make a dough for cookies only using my hand.
Gross?! Just ignored it.

Ta daa!
Nestum peanuts butter cookies.

Nestum peanuts chicken floss rolls!

Wish everyone has a prosperous year ahead!

Happy Deepavali

There were so many fireworks popping up high in the sky during the midnight.
The sound was superb loud as there are some Indians living in the neighbourhood.
At first, I was like oh is Deepavali.
Then, fireworks and firecracker's sound was like more and more and more. Non-stop popping.
Indians now are rich!
So, I purposely rushed out to see.
Not just me, well a lot of people standing at the balcony to watch the fireworks.
What a Beautiful night!

The Indian neighbours will either give us these or ask us to dine in their house during each year Deepavali.
And cookies will be arriving a few days more after Deepavali!

Food from House A:

Rendang Chicken

Puri. The favourite in the family.

Indian's Mutton always taste better!

Food from House B:

Mutton.

Thosai. But, still prefer Puri/ Chapatti.

Chicken curry.

A few years ago, there was a Malay family lived behind my house.
The wife will always gave us some Ayam Masak Merah or Sambal Fish.

Malays cook well in those dishes.
But, they are shifted to somewhere else.

One of the advantages of having differences races living in the same neighbourhood.

HAPPY DEEPAVALI

Lolly cuppecakies ❤

There was a small birthday celebration for a little boy in this morning. His mother bought some cupcakes for the friends and teachers. Everyone is shooo happy!! The pokemon series cupcakes are happy pills.

The children' eyes are all bling bling when they saw the cakes, they were liked wanna throw out the pocket balls and shout " Gotta catch em'all! "

Grab a pic from my colleague.

I'm just so envy with children nowadays. They are all born in this era with all those cute stuffs here and there. I remembered when I was small we don't have cute cakes like this. Everyone bought the almost same decoration cakes, just with different size.

The boring traditional cakes.......

Most of the children' parents are just so generous. They will buy any designed cakes to their children as long as they afford to. Now, you can see a lot of bakery or pastry shop, they have catalogues for the customers to choose cakes with any designs.

See, the inner part. The cakes are in layers, stuffed with fruity and marshmallows. Yummy

The lil boys and girls are surrounded with all these cute cakes. Whereas, I only have chiffon cakes with icing or cream and fake flowers or cherries on top when I was a small little girl.

Y I no born in 20th century?!

And now i feel like wanna have a piece of cakey!
