Khao Yai - Bangkok June 2016 part 3

After visited Khao Yai, we decided to stay in Bangkok to do shopping in Pratunam mall.
Nothing much to share about this mall as every shopaholic should be familiar with this place.
This time we had visited the Unicorn cafe and sky bar at Lebua, State Tower.

Unicorn Cafe
People who knows me know that I don't fancy candy colours but when I traveled with a really sweet girl and I don't know why I just felt alright when she said she wanna visit the cafe.
So ya just turn a corner from the hotel where we stayed, we reached this fantasy land.

It was a really small size cafe but every pieces of walls and ceilings
painted with rainbow colours and in unicorn theme.

Unicorn and some cute "pajamas" or costumes were provided for the visitors to take pictures.
So yea, I can't believe I did things like this.
Probably deep down I started to love pastel colours.

So as the food all in pastel tones.
Looked cute but it was just a sugar rush high tea.

Sky bar @ Lebua, State Tower

The previous time when I was in Bangkok, I planned to visit this bar but we didn't made it in the end.

And I never thought I'd visited here with Hannah on my second visit in Bangkok, somehow it's fate I guess.

Appreciate the moment that we had shared together.
We were having cocktails at outdoor bar, they separated the dining area and bar counter.
Visitors are not allowed to enter the dining area if you're not dining there.
So, you'll see there were actually a lot of people squeezed around the bar counter.

There was an indoor restaurant / bar in the dome but most of people prefer outdoor bar.
Personally feel that despite the magnificent dome architecture
and the astonishing skyline of Bangkok city,
I'd choose a less crowded place to chill.

So, here comes the end of the whole trip.
As usual, it may not be the best trip but it created one of the most beautiful memory in my life.

Khao Yai - Bangkok June 2016 part 2

Here comes the second stay in Khao Yai which was the most comfort stay throughout the trip.
It was a very nice castle which imitated the Thame Valley in England.
I can just stayed whole day inside the castle, strolling around it.

At night, we went to a museum which they displayed most of the old school stuffs.

So, here comes the end of the trip in Khao Yai.
Even though it may not be the best place to visit but still it was a great experience indeed.

Khao Yai - Bangkok June 2016 part 1

Super old post here, but it's ok, I just wanna record down some memories.

I always have this spontaneous urge to travel to somewhere. Due to the budget restriction, I have not much choice. During that time, there are lots of people talk about this place, Khao Yai on Facebook. So, Hannah and I decided to give it a visit. Then, we think since we will be landing in Bangkok, why not we stay there for few days, too. So, there comes the Khao Yai-Bkk trip.

Lemme have a brief intro about Khao Yai according to my first expression.
I feel like it's a lot like Hua Hin, because most of the tourist spots are artificial buildings that built imitating the European's style.
Honestly, this doesn't catch my attention anymore.
My main purpose to visit Khao Yai was hoping to see the golden field of sunflowers. But, we were totally let down by knowing June wasn't the season.

Anyhow, I still impressed by the hotels/ resorts over there. Even though, I don't like visiting tourist spots at there but for the accommodation part was a great experienced.
Before booking the hotels, we both find it really hard to decide which hotel to stay because there are a lots of hotels which are having nice architectur and the prices are reasonable!!

First day, after landed at the airport, we met our rented car with drivers. There is a must to rented car best with driver in Khao Yai because you don't really see public transport at there and the roads are dark during night.

Both the drivers are men. Maybe because of the security awareness, Hannah and I were actually kinda worried both of them are some bad guys but luckily the whole trip to and fro Khao Yai was safe and sound.

For the first night, we were staying at this place called Casa Montana.
At first, when I entered the camper van, I actually felt it was a bit shabby and old.
( and narrow, of course! )
Don't have quite a good impression on it, but maybe because we reached there late and tired
and it was raining.
But during the next morning, the view was looking great from the windows.
Anyhow, it was still a great experience as I have been wanted to try
staying a in camper van long time ago.

Cute watermelon grown on the land. I was kind of surprised when I saw it hid under the bench.

Not forget to compliment on their free breakfast set.
The best ever free breakfast that we had tried during the whole trip.
Look at the generous amount of jam that the owner had given us, a whole small bottle!
And how considerate that he served us milk, juice and plain water!
Left: We were choosing to have breakfast at outdoor to enjoy the greenery but then it rained. Sigh!
Right: Then we moved inside and we had flat lay!
(So yea, you see God closed one door but he opened another)
Best ever breakfast still, as we enjoyed one meal at both indoor and outdoor.

Then, we checked out and visited to 'Palio'.
The real Palio is in Siena, Italy.
So, here is just a place for people to take plenty of photos and some souvenirs shops for tourists to do some shopping.

Next destination, The Blooms. It is kinda like Cameron Highlands where they planted a lot of flowers.

We had our lunch here.
Ordered quite a lot of food, the glass noodles kinda impressed us with its spiciness
as if the chilies padi are free.
Literally every bite of the noodles caused our lips burnt.

Rawa Island 14 - 16。03。16_02

So how about consider getting a house beside a beach like this after your pension?
Waking up by the sea waves' sound, cooking your breakfast with the beautiful sea in front of you, read something by sea breeze, jump into the water anytime you want, a leisure walk with your hubby holding hands. Then, the day ends with watching the stars over the infinity sky. That pretty much sums up life that I wanna have when I'm 65.

As I mentioned on the previous post, I went Rawa during the hottest season.
But, I don't care about the hot sun.
When u go to an island, you must have tanner skin right?
By the way, bikini line is sexy!

Can you see the sunlight?
I must thanks my friend who took this lovely shot!
During the next morning, we found a lot of transparent jelly kind of sea creatures with mustard colour 'eye' on the shore.
If anyone comes across my blog and you know what kind of exact creatures are these, please let me know.
Some said they are some kind of jellyfish.

That's all for my trip in Rawa.
Absorbed so much vitamin sea and salty water but it's awesome.
As usual, every places that I went there are great sides and the downsides but I always believe that you widen horizon not just by seeing a place through internet or book but you need to step on the land, toes in the sand and feel it by yourself. There's nothing about worthy or not with the prices you paid.

Bye, peeps. Looking forward for another adventure, soon.

Rawa Island 14 - 16。03。16_01

March was a month that I felt really upset. Hence, I decided to go for a short getaway like no matter what I just wanna escape from it. Few years ago, we did planned to visit Rawa Island but then it changed to Sepang Gold Coast. Now, we finally stepped our feet on this pristine island.

Rawa island is an private island own by the Sultan of Johor. There has only two resorts operated. One is Rawa Island's resort, which is more suitable for honeymoon couples as they have more choices on rooms that you can really lying down on the bed cuddling with your love one facing the sea (That's what I thought of how good if I was with my bf). Another one is Alang's Rawa which only provided few types of houses that suitable for groups of families or friends.

My friends and I chose Alang's Rawa as it costs cheaper prices. The only reservation that they take is through email and behind the email, the person who handles it is a lady from Royal family. Before I went to this island, I saw kinda much bad comments about the reservations in Alang's. Well, of course, to read hundreds of inquires per day is not an easy job. That's the reason that sometimes when you're in not in luck, your email can't even be seen. My friend did the reservation three years ago and two weeks earlier from the trip, both weren't got a reply. Then, a week later I thought of giving it a try to email again and like finally, we booked a room.

Basically, there are few types of houses at Alang's. Don't worry that the description saying about the room distance from their open air restaurant. Believe me, everything is near like within 1km and you can definitely see the sea view from each houses. But of course is not seeing it while you are lying on your bed, do walk a few steps to the balcony please.

This was the view from the balcony of my room.
Yes, the sea water is that blue! that blue!
I really like to see those different blue colour tones on the water.
You just got to feel such amazed by the nature of God.

Greeted by this big dream catcher hanging on the wall inside the room.
That particular period I was obsessed with dream catcher.

We were staying in a room without aircond during the hottest El-Nino season.
Well, it was kinda stuffy during day time but we prefer to stay outdoor so it's definitely ok.
During night time, the weather turned cooler.
So, a room without aircond is not a problem for us.
Just one downside to remind was the water was really salty (suspected the pipe water was coming right from the sea), don't expect to have a clean body after your wash.
And girls, your hair just gonna be dry after your few days stayed.
We literally felt that we were back to the heaven when we reached back home to have a good nice bath.
Clean water is precious in the island.
We began our trip by having late lunch at their open air restaurant.
They will reserved table according to your travelling groups.
Every meals they served in buffet style, tasted really delicious especially their beef.
Personally I think the food was kinda salty.
I was doubting did the chef used sea water to cook? LOL.
What can you do on this small island?
Honestly, not much.

Swim and swim.
When you swim a little bit far from the shore you'll start to see death corals, I don't think that can be consider as a good swimming session.

Snorkeling.
No fishes or beautiful corals, but after my trip backed from there I saw people posted video that they saw cute nemos. It was at the other side nearby the slides but staffs from Alang's warned us that there are a lot of sea urchin that's why we didn't went snorkeled at there.

Relaxing by the beachside/ jetty.
Alang's provided a lot of books at a corner so grab one and enjoy reading.
You can find some bean bags and couches over the jetty there.
In front of Alang's restaurant, there are hammocks and beach chairs as well.
Lay on the beachside to watch stars gazing, you'll just feeling wow and wow like how could you find such shinning stars at sky in the city.

Slide into the sea if you dare enough.
So much wanted to try but I was so worry about the moment I drop into the sea because I can't swim at all.

Canoeing.
Tired but fun.

Hiking.
Not a high mountain so don't worry about it, you can see beautiful sunset from there. Along the way, you'll see some peacocks walking elegantly and some even on top of the roof! We were really wondering that can peacocks fly?

Peacock farm.
That was the first time I saw so many peacocks with their feathers opened to catch female peacocks' attention. It's funny to see how arrogant the female peacocks just walked away from the aggressiveness of the male peacocks by vibrating their feathers. Girls, I got you. Lol.

Other than that, the beauty scenery worth every single memories in your camera or phone. So, take plenty of pictures/ videos.

Every water activities equipment are free of charge. They might be taking RM50 as a deposit that can be refund but sometimes they just being so carefree that saying, ok you just take whatever you want and remember to return to its original place. This resort just like a home to everyone, do whatever you like and enjoy it to the max.
